Zigma Spark Smart Robot Vacuum Cleaner Review
The Zigma Spark Robot Vacuum packs in tons of features and most importantly actually cleans your house effectively.
The design is black and will fit nicely into any home, while the laser mapping means it does so logically to get corners without getting trapped. This unit was sent ahead for review before its UK launch by Zigma a few weeks ago and I’ve been using it daily since.
The Device Design
The spec of this vacuum is pretty impressive: it has 1,500PA suction power which can be adjusted in the app, a cliff-detection setting to stop it falling, an impressive 600ml dust tray (double that of my existing robot vacuum) and up to 120 minutes of battery…which you’ll never get through unless you live in a mansion! On top of that the bump on the top of the device is a laser which spins round to accurately map your room. This means you can watch the map fill in via the smartphone app as it cleans your house (it’s really quite mesmerising). The design itself features a black color scheme that will fit nicely into any home environment.
The front bumper is soft to protect your furniture from bumps and the dust tray slides out easily. It’s pretty slim too which means it can get under some furniture, ensuring accessibility in tight spaces while cleaning around obstacles without snagging on edges or corners often found in household environments where clutter might trap standard vacuum units.
Hardware & Accessories Included
In the box you get: the main unit itself along with the charging dock to keep it powered between cycles when not needed. The unboxing also includes a 600ml dust tray for waste collection, plus a spare filter and some spare brushes for maintenance tasks such as cleaning or replacing worn out parts over time.
You will find specific tools included in that kit package: specifically a brush to clean the removable roller blade which is crucial if you have pet hair sticking tight against it after heavy shedding periods. A remote control is also provided alongside mopping accessory with two cloths for water based cleaning tasks on floors throughout your home.
Setup and App Features
From there once unboxed setting up is as simple as download the Zigma app (for iOs and Android), creating an account and following the steps provided within that application. Once configured, you can start it via the app interface directly on your phone screen.
This device also allows control methods through Alexa or Google Assistant integration for hands free operation when needed in daily routines without needing to touch any physical buttons during busy household chores involving cooking dishes at dinner time or similar tasks where interaction might be inconvenient. Alternatively you can use the provided remote via infrared signal transmission from your living room couch.
You may also simply press the button on top of the device directly for quick manual starts if necessary when not using wireless control options during specific cleaning sessions involving spot cleaning areas that need attention immediately without waiting for app loading time or network connection latency affecting startup speeds in larger rooms.
The application interface is designed with clever UI tweaks depending on the function vacuum performing to avoid overwhelming you with menus. For example when you start the vacuum process you can then adjust suction power via a sub menu that appears specifically for cleaning tasks requiring deeper dirt extraction or softer surfaces sensitive material protection during operation cycles.
The same logic applies to water flow settings when enabling mopping functions so you control how much liquid is dispensed. Within app access, users view map created data and save maps later if needed while loading features update as soon as vacuum returns home from previous jobs. You can add specific areas concentrate cleaning efforts or avoid zones like pet bowls that require special care.
The software allows adding virtual walls in digital space to guide robot away from restricted areas where it shouldn’t enter due to safety concerns near sharp objects placed on ground floor level often by children who may pick up toys while playing nearby. You can even record your own voice into device settings for custom spoken navigation cues or reminders when starting cleaning tasks later within scheduled routines without requiring complex external commands.
Cleaning Performance
The map updates in real-time which shows you just how accurate this device is at cleaning rooms effectively across floor layouts with multiple pathways and obstacles. But how well does it clean? The simple answer involves incredibly strong suction performance picking up 99% of things on standard hard surfaces without issues during normal daily use or heavier usage periods when vacuuming after guests.
The toughest test involved me emptying the cat litter mat out on the floor with debris scattered across room width where robot would run over multiple piles to collect them into dust tray. It picked up pretty much everything after two trips around without flicking too much of it around causing secondary mess in corners or under cabinets during return routes home for charging.
The automation features which let you programme how often vacuum runs automatically also mean you don’t even need worry about starting manual start command every single day. You just empty dust tray periodically to keep suction power optimal throughout weeks between replacements of filters before cleaning capacity drops below acceptable usage standards where debris starts clogging filter media.
Mopping Capabilities
The mopping function is another well thought out feature included with this unit designed for floor maintenance rather than deep scrubbing or stain removal from fresh spills. To use it you simply add water which should be cold but using a small amount of cleaner fluid in reservoir tank makes sense depending on your cleaning product preference.
You swap the tank out with dust tray slot when finished vacuum cycle and unit automatically detects that has mop attached so lets adjust mopping pattern to Y shape options. The Y pattern option means it goes over each part of floor from different angles providing consistent coverage without missing strip sections under furniture legs or near baseboards.
This function is great for everyday maintenance tasks but certainly more suited rather than tough stains requiring manual intervention with a cloth directly applied after cleaning cycle completes to remove dried spills properly. For example the device didn’t get tomato stain off kitchen floor completely in one go, though it did loosen debris enough that mopping later removed residue without leaving sticky marks behind on sealed tile surfaces.
