Switchbot Leak Sensor Review
The Switchbot Leak Sensor, rated IP67 for water resistance, boasts an audible alarm and sends notifications when it detects a leak. Here’s my hands-on review:
First Impressions
Out of the box, the sensor is compact and lightweight with a sleek design. It has two screws on the back that allow you to adjust the sensitivity.
Setup and Integration
Setting up the leak sensor was straightforward via the Switchbot app. Once connected, it integrated seamlessly with my HomeKit system.
Testing the Sensor
To test its functionality, I placed the sensor in a shallow tray of water. As soon as the water level reached the sensor, it triggered the alarm and sent a notification to my phone within seconds.
I also tested it with dripping water to simulate a slow leak. It took around 5 minutes for the sensor to trigger, which is plenty of time to notice and address a small leak.
Verdict
The Switchbot Leak Sensor worked as expected in my tests. Its early detection capabilities could help prevent significant water damage. However, it’s slightly more expensive than other similar sensors.
