Hi, I’m Mark — welcome to Mark’s Tech Blogs, the companion site to my YouTube channel, Mark’s Tech Vlogs.
I’ve spent the last several years reviewing smart home tech on YouTube, building an audience of thousands of subscribers across hundreds of videos. I focus mainly on lighting, heating, locks, cameras, sensors, mesh Wi-Fi and robot vacuums, with a particular interest in building an Apple Home (HomeKit) and Matter compatible smart home.
What I do here
Every product featured on this blog is tested in my own house before it goes anywhere near the channel or this site. I’m not interested in rewriting spec sheets — if something doesn’t work well, I’ll say so. My goal is to give the honest, independent opinion I’d want before spending my own money.
Why a blog as well as a channel?
The videos let you see products in action, but this blog lets me go further — full written breakdowns, setup notes, longer-term follow-ups, and troubleshooting guides for issues that come up after the review period ends.
