Materials You’ll Need:
- Voltage tester
- Screwdriver (flathead)
- Wire stripper
Note: Before you begin, ensure your home’s wiring is compatible with the thermostat. Refer to the Habi Easy Smart Thermostat’s compatibility chart.
Steps for Mounting and Wiring:
- Remove your existing thermostat cover.
- Turn off power to your HVAC system at the breaker.
- Carefully remove your old thermostat, preserving its wiring connections.
- Mount the Habi Easy Smart Thermostat’s base plate using the included screws. Ensure it’s level and aligned with your existing wires.
- Strip about 1/2 inch of insulation from each wire.
- Connect the wires to the base plate, matching the colors: Red (R) to Rh, Green (G) to G, White (W) to W, and Blue (B) or Yellow (Y) to Y.
- Secure connections using wire nuts. Tighten gently to avoid damaging wires.
- Install the thermostat onto the base plate and secure it with screws.
Connecting to the Habi App:
Once your thermostat is wired and mounted, follow these steps to connect it to the Habi app:
- Download and install the Habi app from your device’s app store.
- Create an account or log in if you already have one.
- Tap on “+” icon to add a new device, then select “Thermostat”.
- Follow the in-app instructions for connecting your thermostat. This may involve scanning the QR code on the thermostat or entering the model number and serial number manually.
