Verdict: Should You Buy This?
The Eve Matter Door and Window Sensor is severely let down by poor battery life. Despite its good design, fast response time, and robust compatibility with Apple Home, SmartThings, Alexa, Google Home, or Home Assistant via Thread support, it cannot be recommended based on the experience of two batteries consumed in just four months for low-frequency use like a record player. In terms of overall value, I will personally switch to a SwitchBot contact sensor soon which is set for review; meanwhile you can also check out alternative options like the Aqara and SwitchBot sensors.
