DoHome IP54 Apple Homekit Ceiling Light Review

Verdict: Despite its budget price and appealing features like IP54 rating and HomeKit compatibility, the DoHome IP54 ceiling light falls short due to installation issues and limited brightness. It might not be worth considering for your smart home setup.

Key Features

The DoHome IP54 ceiling light boasts an impressive set of features:

  • IP54 rating, suitable for bathroom zones 1 & 2
  • Budget price of £26
  • HomeKit compatibility

Installation and Pairing

While the installation process was straightforward with simple tools required, I faced some difficulties pairing it with my Home app:

“I had to reset the light multiple times before successfully pairing it.”

Performance

Unfortunately, the performance of this light left me wanting. Despite having a power rating of 6W (equivalent to a 40W incandescent bulb), it only provides minimal brightness:

“It struggles to provide adequate lighting for larger rooms.”

Conclusion

In summary, the DoHome IP54 ceiling light has its appealing aspects but ultimately falls short due to installation issues and disappointing brightness levels. Based on my experience, I wouldn’t recommend this product for your smart home.
