Mark’s Tech Blogs takes a closer look at the BrushO AI Toothbrush — an intelligent, app-connected toothbrush that promises to revolutionise your oral hygiene routine.

2025 has undoubtedly been the year of AI. From smart home apps to smartphone software, artificial intelligence has found its way into nearly every corner of our daily lives — and now, BrushO has created the BrushO AI Toothbrush, designed to understand your mouth and help you brush better.

Disclosure: The BrushO AI Toothbrush was sent to me for review. I didn’t pay for the device, but I’m also not being paid to write this review, and BrushO has not seen this content before publication.

Pricing and First Impressions

The BrushO AI Toothbrush retails for around $150, with regular discounts available. Replacement brush heads cost $29 for a pack of four, and you can choose between soft, medium, or hard bristles. This places it around the average price point for smart toothbrushes.

Right from the unboxing, it feels like a premium product. The packaging is well-presented, and inside you’ll find the toothbrush, a small USB-powered charging dock, and two brush heads. The charger’s compact dock design keeps things neat and travel-friendly — although it would be nice to see a carry case included at this price.

Design and Build Quality

The BrushO AI Toothbrush is available in white or black; I tested the white model. It features a sleek, minimal design with a silver accent at the top and a small display with two buttons — one for power and one for mode selection. The display is especially useful because it means you can track brushing progress directly on the toothbrush, without needing to open the companion app every time. It’s lightweight, slim, and comfortable to hold.

Setup and App Connection

Setup is straightforward. After fully charging the toothbrush, download the BrushO app and register an account. Optionally, you can create a wallet to earn small crypto rewards through brushing — a fun extra, though entirely optional.

Pairing the BrushO AI Toothbrush is done via Bluetooth. Each brush head includes a QR code you can scan to link it with your account. This helps the app track usage and remind you when it’s time to replace the head, which is recommended every three months.

Within the app, you can customise brushing modes, set goals (like whitening, fresh breath, or gum care), and define your teeth category and current whiteness level. The AI learns from your brushing habits and suggests the most suitable modes accordingly.

Features and Specifications

The BrushO AI Toothbrush supports eight brushing modes: Clean, Sensitive, White+, Gum Care, Ultra-Gentle, Deep Clean, Smoky, and Orth (for braces). There’s also a customisable mode for personalised brushing. Each mode runs for two minutes by default, with a timer displayed both on the toothbrush and within the app.

AI-powered tracking monitors six mouth zones and sixteen surfaces, analysing your brushing coverage and suggesting improvements over time. BrushO claims 20× plaque removal efficiency, driven by a second-generation Maglev sonic motor that improves both performance and energy efficiency.

It’s whisper-quiet, operating at under 55dB, and fully IPX7 waterproof. Battery life is rated for around 40 days per charge, which matches my real-world experience after a week of twice-daily use.

Everyday Use and Performance

The BrushO AI Toothbrush can be used with or without the app. Using it standalone is as simple as pressing the mode button to choose your brushing type, then pressing power to begin. When connected to the app, you’ll see real-time brushing progress, with on-screen indicators showing which parts of your mouth you’ve covered.

The toothbrush gives a gentle stop-start vibration every 30 seconds to remind you to move to a new zone, and after two minutes it automatically stops. At the end of each session, the app provides a brushing score out of 100, along with detailed stats on brushing coverage, duration, and pressure.

There’s also an FSB mode that detects whether you’re actively brushing and pauses the timer accordingly. In my testing, this feature was slightly over-sensitive, occasionally failing to register brushing motion, but BrushO has confirmed they’re working on an update to improve this.

App Insights and Rewards

The app keeps a history of your brushing sessions and provides long-term data so you can track trends over time. It also offers optional brushing rewards that can be converted into cryptocurrency and stored in your linked wallet — an interesting touch for those who like digital incentives.

I particularly appreciate the head usage tracker, which shows remaining brush head life and sends reminders when replacements are due — ideal for anyone (like me) who forgets to change heads regularly.

Final Verdict

After using the BrushO AI Toothbrush for a week, I’m genuinely impressed. It’s comfortable to use, gentle on the gums, and provides excellent feedback through both the on-device display and the companion app. The AI brushing insights and detailed progress tracking set it apart from many competitors.

My only real criticism is the price, which may be a barrier for some users. However, if you’re looking for a smart toothbrush that genuinely enhances your brushing routine, the BrushO AI Toothbrush is an excellent choice.
