My review of the Aqara Camera Hub G350, the successor to the G3. I’ve been using it since mid-February so this covers real day-to-day use rather than a quick unboxing impression.

The G350 brings a jump to 4K (1080p in Apple Home, unfortunately), a second 2.5K telephoto lens with 9x hybrid zoom, improved night mode, and — most notably — Matter over Thread support, making it the first camera to support Matter 1.5. It also works as a Matter Controller and Bridge for Aqara’s Zigbee devices, and supports HomeKit Secure Video, RTSP, Google Home, Alexa, and SmartThings.
I cover the design, setup, privacy mode automations, the telephoto lens, app features, cloud storage and subscription options, and a couple of issues I ran into — including a position memory bug and what I did to work around it.
At £140 it’s a step up from the G3 at £85.
Whether that’s worth it depends a lot on your setup — I give my honest take at the end.
