Eightree Matter Smart Plug Review

I’ve been testing the Eightree Matter compatible smart plugs for a few weeks now, and I’m impressed. They’re affordable at just £10 each and pair seamlessly with your Apple Home, Alexa, Google, or Smart Things app without needing an extra app.

Setup

The setup process was straightforward. You simply plug in the smart plug, connect it to your Wi-Fi network via the Eightree app (available on both iOS and Android), and then add it to your preferred smart home platform.

Performance

The plugs have performed well so far. They respond quickly to commands via voice assistants or the apps, with minimal lag. I’ve also noticed no issues with connectivity even when other devices are active on the same network.

One of my favorite features is the scheduling option in the Eightree app. You can set specific times for your connected devices to turn on or off, which comes in handy for tasks like turning off lights before bedtime or turning on heat lamps for my plants at sunrise.

Energy Monitoring

While not a deal-breaker, the energy monitoring feature is a nice addition. It allows you to track your device’s power consumption over time and provides insights into how much energy it uses daily or monthly.

Verdict

The Eightree Matter Smart Plugs are an excellent choice for anyone looking for affordable, reliable smart plugs that work seamlessly with popular smart home platforms. They’re easy to set up, perform well, and offer useful features like scheduling and energy monitoring.
