Philips Hue Indoor Motion Sensor Review

After six years of using the Philips Hue Indoor motion sensor with my Hue lights, I’ve got a comprehensive review to share. Let’s dive into the details:

First Impressions & Setup

The sensor has a sleek design that blends in well with modern decor. Setting it up was a breeze – just peel and stick, then connect via the Hue app.

Performance

It’s reliable and responsive; lights turn on promptly when I enter a room. The sensitivity is adjustable, so you can fine-tune it to avoid false triggers.

  • Detection Area: 10 meters (33 feet) and up to 45° angle
  • Lumens: Detects motion from 2 lux

Integration with Hue Ecosystem

The sensor plays nice with other Hue devices. You can create routines, like lights turning on at sunset when motion is detected.

Battery Life & Maintenance

Battery life has been excellent – I’ve only replaced them once in six years. They’re easily accessible via a sliding tray.

Verdict

The Philips Hue Indoor Motion Sensor is an excellent investment for automating your smart home lighting. It’s reliable, customizable, and integrates seamlessly with the Hue ecosystem.
