The iFLYTEK AINOTE 2 is being billed as the world’s first GPT-5-powered paper tablet — and it’s a seriously impressive piece of tech. Featuring a 10.65-inch paper-like display that’s gentle on the eyes, a 4.2mm ultra-thin design, and a feather-light 295g weight, it’s a device built for productivity, creativity, and portability.

Design and Build Quality

Unboxing the device, the first thing that stands out is just how thin and lightweight it is. At only 4.2mm thick, it’s officially the world’s thinnest E-Ink tablet. The silver rounded edges give it a modern, premium feel, while the off-white rear panel includes four small rubber feet to keep it stable when writing on a desk.

There are magnetic connectors on the side for attaching the stylus, a fingerprint sensor built into the power button, and a USB-C port at the base. The front features ultra-slim bezels surrounding the large 10.65” Carta 1300 e-ink display, which looks fantastic and provides a smooth, paper-like writing experience.

Specifications and Performance

Inside, the device is powered by an RK3576 octa-core processor with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. It runs on Android 14, making it fast and responsive, and now includes full Google Play Store support, so you can install productivity apps such as Gmail, OneDrive, or Kindle.

The 4000mAh battery offers up to 14 days of typical use, which is outstanding for such a slim tablet. It also supports Bluetooth connectivity for headphones or keyboards, though there’s no built-in speaker.

Setup and Interface

Setup is straightforward. Once powered on, you’re guided through account creation, Wi-Fi connection, and fingerprint setup. Within minutes, the device is ready to use. The interface is clean and minimal, keeping distractions to a minimum and helping you focus on note-taking and productivity tasks.

Note-Taking and AI Tools

The note-taking mode is where this tablet shines. Notes can be sorted into folders and synced with your AINOTE mobile account. You can write using the battery-free stylus, type with the on-screen keyboard, or use the microphone for voice dictation. The handwriting recognition is highly accurate, even with messy writing.

AI features include the ability to summarise meeting notes, convert text via OCR to Markdown, or even generate starter documents such as policy drafts. There’s also a built-in AI Chat button that can help you find notes or manage schedules. It’s an intelligent assistant built right into your workflow.

Translation and Language Features

For international users, the device supports real-time transcription in 15 languages, translation across 10 languages, and handwriting-to-text conversion in 83 languages. Whether you’re taking notes in a meeting or studying foreign texts, it’s a remarkably capable multilingual tool.

Scheduling and Productivity Tools

The built-in calendar, task manager, and focus tools make it a solid productivity companion. The calendar allows you to add memos, link notes to dates, and even auto-generate daily reports. Integration with Google Calendar and Office 365 makes syncing across devices easy.

The included stylus attaches magnetically to the side and provides a near-zero-latency writing experience. It even doubles as an eraser when held at an angle and the button is pressed — a thoughtful touch that makes digital writing feel natural.

Reading and Apps

The device isn’t just for note-taking — it’s also a great e-reader. You can import documents via Wi-Fi, USB, or OneDrive and annotate them directly. The integrated bookstore offers free reading material, and with Google Play Store access, apps like Kindle or Chrome can be installed for even more flexibility.

Although not designed for media playback, you can experiment with various apps. Most productivity and reading tools work flawlessly, and browsing the web on an e-ink screen is surprisingly pleasant for long reading sessions.

Limitations

The biggest trade-off is the lack of a backlight. This helps keep the device thin and light but means it’s not ideal for low-light reading. Similarly, there’s no built-in speaker, so you’ll need Bluetooth headphones to listen to recordings or translations.

Verdict

The iFLYTEK AINOTE 2 is an outstanding example of what an AI-powered productivity tablet can be. It’s beautifully designed, lightweight, and packed with intelligent features that make note-taking, translation, and scheduling effortless.

With its long battery life, Google Play support, and GPT-5-powered AI tools, it’s a serious contender for anyone looking for a smarter, distraction-free way to work or study. If you’re after the thinnest, most capable e-ink productivity tablet available today, this is the one to beat.
